Thanks for the info Scott. Finally I'm pulling into my driveway and oil is everywhere and the engine has smoke coming out of it. Now my car has passed 21 000 km and still is burning oil. I'll change it in 5k-7500k miles and start using the good synthetic stuff from that point on. I've used Mobil 1 and Toyota filters on my cars for 30+ years with excellent results. The shop should have started a oil consumption test.
