Everyone there has always been pleasant to deal with. I figured at this point it was my best bet and for my own safety to get out of there and take further action. Our goal is to offer the best services available at affordable prices to get you back on the road in no time. We went back to Aastro. I called another tow company to come pick up my now non-working vehicle to park in my driveway.
If this was the case, they should of said that said that initially. I told her I would pay for the clips on the door but not the labor since they caused damage. There is still a whining noise! I had been using a couple of different places to handle minor repairs but after the way Jimmy and his crew took care of me - I'll be using Jimmy at Aastro for all my car stuff. Which brings us to parts costs. None of these statements were true by any stretch of the imagination. I was at a loss on finding a repair shop. Took it back a third time, now the pump they used, there was somerhing wrong with that too! It was Friday at 6pm.
I repeatedly told her the switch mechanisms were not like that before. When I asked for the part number so I could see if another Toyota dealership would sell it cheaper than their source they refused and tried to make me feel bad for even thinking about it! They were friendly and offer alot of advice until you are reeled in and then when you don't agree with their advice or recommendations they treat you like crap. Gloria then got back in the mix. We agreed to get it fixed, they charge to drop the transmission to diagnose and to reinstall even without repairing it. All services needed were explained in advance, and all work was done to my satisfaction.
I went to have my transmission checked out, they told me a bunch of lies, totaling 4,000 dollars and they have had my transmission out 3 times now and to this day it still isn't fixed. He denied it and looked to see where the camera was. They were able to look at it and diagnose the problem. Now its supposably, maybe an engine issue but they are willing to give a us a discount on getting that repaired! She was very intimidating and condescending. I repeatedly said that it was very shady that they will not give out that number. My 3K mile oil changes will be done at this company but I will go to the Ina Rd shop.
They caught a light that was out which I hadn't noticed that might have resulted in a ticket or even an accident! They gave me a quote of a little more than a third of the cost of Aastro! The mechanics and office staff have always been courteous and have responded to our questions. They needed to order another one and reinstall. Oh, and on that note John also advised me that I could use regular as opposed to premium gasoline as per the Manufacturers' recommendation. Gloria was the gal at the front desk and actually asked John to come up front to meet me. A trustworthy mechanic is hard to find! Oh, and they bribe you with coupons and money for some of their cheap services if you prove you've written a positive review for them on various social media. Well, why the hell not? Please read review before you go there.
When I visited this place, there was an old guy who told me that he was with toyota for 18 yrs in the machine shop. All of which is greatly appreciated. Their quotes are, usually, right on target and they are great at communicating what needs to be done, why, and giving you the option of opting out of some work. It even was returned to me freshly washed and vacuumed! I have nothing but good things to say about Jimmy at Aastro. Don't step foot in there unless you want to be robbed blind! What's funny is that I paid for fuel system diagnostic in order to determine that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. I would push my car before I would aloow them to touch it again.
Now they are saying there were 2 whining noises and they fixed the one in the transmission. Aastro did complete the service requested. Oh, and on that note John also advised me that I could use regular as opposed to premium gasoline as per the Manufacturers' recommendation. Their very helpful manager J. And they'll sweet talk you at first. Ultimately, we took it to the dealership and the whining noise was related to the timing chains.
My advice to anyone considering these lousy people go some where else!! He's very nice at first. The other garage told me that they were going to have to replace my power steering pump. If I had read them first, I wouldn't have gone there. So, I have been doing that for a year but still couldn't out run my girlfriend's Prius. I haven't had it connected since. I went in because the offered free towing.
I was so scared at this point I went and gave them another credit card. The guy james would not give me an estimate. They suggested rebuilding it and replacing the Syncro Rings. I'm so glad I didn't have the work done at Aastro. They even searched for the best price on all the parts and passed on substantial savings to me. Aastro had the vehicle running again by noon on Saturday.
Now, four months later, vehicle is running great. They saved me a lot of money and have always been fair and honest. I immediately asked him why he was putting his hand on me. Once again, paid too much money and didn't get what I asked for fixed on the car. I even attempted to call Wayne who is the courier. In and out in one day and less then what you quoted me. But they said they could fix it and low and behold we needed a rebuilt transmission and guess what! I told her that was a lie.
